Only All Volunteer Run Library in Michigan!

In the small Village of Climax there exists a lovely jewel; Lawrence Memorial Library. Llocated in the former Climax Village Post Office (1836-1964) the original portion of the building is registered as a National Historical Site. In 1964 the Lawrence family descendants sold it to the Village for $1 with the intent it be used as a Library and today it also houses the Prairie Historical Society. Aside from the building which was built from stones collected by the rural mail carriers while dielivering in the area, it is unique in that it is the ONLY all-volunteer run Library in the State of Michigan!
